our last ferry ride from Juneau to Skagway
We arrived in Skagway around midnight and parked the trailer at Neitzers.
We spent the next day touring Skagway and waiting for mom's passport. It had arrived in Juneau that morning, and the owner of our campground put it on a float plane up to Skagway for us. It did arrive safely and made our boarder crossings much more enjoyable than they could have been!

It was raining in the Carcross Desert....thought that wasn't supposed to happen...
...our breakdown.
Around 10 o'clock at night we realized we had broken a leafspring on the trailer and blew our rear tire. We were able to nurse it along for a couple miles until we found a spot to pull off for the night.
Beth and Jason did an awesome job jacking the trailer up and stabilizing it so we could sleep safely.
The next morning we drove to a roadhouse and found a self declared "mechanic" who came out to help Jason. Mom and I picked wild strawberries while the boys worked.
A day later we were finally back on the road. This is Folded Mountain

There were quite a few large wildfires burning in the yukon, so they wouldn't allow any roadside stopping. These signs were all along the road.
We stopped in Watson Lake and mom found a sign for the town where dad is working.

Its a rough life when you have to keep changing the title of your blog because you move so often. Cute picture though. Can't believe it has almost been two years.
